In response to the gradual relaxation of restrictions imposed to fight COVID-19, St Agnes Parish Council have been active in a Cornwall-wide approach to help make the “High Street” safer for the community to visit.  St Agnes Parish Council have liaised with the Chamber of Commerce who are encouraging businesses to put measures in place to encourage social distancing inside shops, and also socially distanced queuing outside shops.  The Council have asked for businesses not to clutter the pavements, so that space is maximised for movement of people, and have put up 30 signs across the Parish in strategic points.  These points include the main retail areas of St Agnes and Porthtowan, as well as some in Mount Hawke and Blackwater.  Further notices are due to be installed warning drivers that pedestrians may be in the road.

The Parish Council extends its thanks to all users of the “High Street” for observing social distancing guidelines.
