Elections for Parish Council (and Cornwall Council, and the Police Crime Commissioner) take place on Thursday 6th May 2021. All 16 Parish Council seats will be vacated at this point and all will be open for candidates to nominate themselves for election. The Parish Council wants as many candidates as possible to come forward so a thorough, democratic election can take place and the people of Blackwater, Mithian, Mount Hawke, Porthtowan and St Agnes can be truly represented.

The process can seem daunting to a person new to local government, but it essentially just involves filling out a form and delivering it in person by a given deadline. Elections packs are available to anyone interested in becoming a candidate so please follow this link: https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/candidate-or-agent/parish-council-elections-england
