On 25th June 2020 the Parish Council deemed the opening of accessible toilets at Porthtowan and Trevaunance Cove to be safe and to run concurrently with RNLI patrols at these locations – 7 days a week from 10:00-18:00.  Further relaxation of restrictions have since been announced and enacted by Central Government, which has led to a large increase in demand for toilet facilities at these locations and in the village of St Agnes.  The Parish Council have therefore reviewed their decision on the full reopening of public toilets and are again putting in place new staffing and cleaning measures, risk assessments and method statements.

As from 15th July 2020 Porthtowan public toilets will be open fully for public use 10:00-18:00, 7 days a week.  As soon as delivery of additional supplies is secured, the public toilets at Trevaunance Cove and Churchtown (St Agnes) will also be fully open for public use 10:00-18:00, 7 days a week.  This will be no later than 26th July.  In the meantime, the accessible toilet only is available for public use at Trevaunance Cove and Churchtown.

The Council had hoped to fully reopen the toilets sooner, but lengthy delays in delivery of necessary materials from suppliers has impeded this. Social distancing and good hygiene practises must be observed by the general public when using these facilities.  Hand sanitiser will be supplied for entry/exit to the toilets, and the cleaning regime for the toilets will be reviewed.  The Council will keep the situation under review and will adapt to changes as necessary.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Lee Dunkley, Parish Clerk
